Nurses and physicians join forces!

For the first time in Switzerland, physicians and nursing personnel are united as members of a common medical association. SSICM has opened its doors to the members of the Swiss Association of Intensive Care Medicine Nursing (IGIP).

The revised SAMS guidelines „Determination of death for the purposes of organ transplantation” (Feststellung des Todes mit Bezug auf Organtransplantationen) will go into effect on 01.09.2011. The Swiss Federal Council has updated Appendix I of the ordinance (Verordnung) regarding transplantation; the appendix now includes a reference to the 2011 guidelines. This update also goes into effect on 01.09.2011.
